Senior Week 22

This week I started working on a new project. I spent Monday thinking of projects and thinking of things that I could use. I realized I could use something to organize CD cases because I listen to them in my car and at home sometimes and don't have a good way to store them.

I started designing late on Monday and thinking of how I wanted to make this. I looked around online for inspiration and found a design I liked. It was a plastic design with some bent edges that I would not be able to make in the shop. I decided to use the same concept where the CDs are standing up straight but make in in a way that I could make in the shop.

I spent a little while thinking of ways to do this but I decided I could just lasercut a couple of pieces and fit them together. I went through a couple of designs figuring out how big I would need to make it and how many spots I would need to give it. Eventually I came up with design that I liked with a larger base and two smaller pieces on top. Once I was done with this design I looked up to see what the dimensions of a CD case were and put them into the design. I do want to double check with a few of my own to make sure the measurements are right so I plan to bring the, Friday and double check.
