Senior Week 15
This week I continued working on the snowboard hanger project. At the end of last week I started looking for ways to reduce the material in my design after stress testing it and realizing that I could reduce the amount of material used significantly. At the end of last week I also shortened how far out the bottom part went. This took away a lot of unneeded material. The message I got from stress testing last week This week I started by looking for drywall anchors to see what

Senior Week 14
This week I continued working on testing the snowboard hanger. Last week I did the first stress tests on it and they came back with great results. The results said that I would be able to take away some material while still keeping the hanger stable enough to support the weight I needed it to. This week I started looking for ways to reduce the materials used. My first idea was to remove the top support on the hanger. I did this on Monday and was able to test the design on Tu

Senior Week 13
This week I continued working on my snowboard hanger. At the start of the week I had to remake my second design unfortunately because it did not save. I finished this pretty quick and added some new changes to it while I was designing it such as a filet on the bottom that I thought made it look better and would possibly add some support. Remade this design and added filet to the bottom One I was done remaking that design I moved on to stress testing. I looked into a few vi

Senior Week 12
This week I continued getting ready to print my snowboard hanger. I furthered my research of drywall anchors and learned about the different types, including heavy duty one which are what i am going to have to use due to the weight of the snowboard and hangers. I also figured out that I would need a heavy duty anchor to mount my snowboard and hangers because of their weight. I found what kind I was going to have to order and looked at the dimensions because I was going to hav

Senior week 11
This week I continued working on my snowboard hanger project. I got all of the files that I was going to need together and noticed some changed I wanted to make on Wednesday. I realized that there were only two screw holes on the hanger. I did not think that this would be enough to support the weight of the snowboard so I added two more beneath it. I also thought that the screws might be too small when I was looking at the 3d print so I started thinking about changing the siz

Senior Week 10
This week I continued working on a side project while I wait on the wood for my stool. At the end of last week I figured out what wood I had to order and started looking for new projects to work on. I realized that I did not finish a snowboard hanger design that I started at the end of last year. the first half of the project This week I started working on remembering the process for 3d printing because I forgot over the summer. I relearned some of the basics after going thro

Senior week 9
This week I finished my search for wood and started looking for a short term project to work on. At the end of last week I narrowed down my wood choices for my stool project. At the start of this week I spoke to Mr. L and had him look at my choices an luckily he helped me find the one that I should order. I plan to order the piece over the weekend so that I can get it soon. The wood I am going to order Once Mr. L told me that the wood would work I started looking for new proj

Senior Week 8
This week I started looking for wood to order for my stool project. Mr. L had already told me what kind of wood I should look for and the sizes I would likely need. I went into Inkscape at the end of last week and put the pieces to my stool on the two sizes that Mr. L suggested which were 4x4 and 4x8. It turns out that the parts would fit perfectly on a 4x4 sheet so that was what I was looking for. At the start of this week I started looking for the best wood to use. At first

Senior Week 7
This week I continued working on my stool Project. At the end of last week I cut out my design in cardboard but did not have a lot of time to look at it, so this week I assembled it and took a look at it to make sure the measurements were going to work for me. Once I put it together it looked perfect. The height was just where I wanted it and I think that the design will be very sturdy and work well in wood. The cardboard version I cut out at the end of last week Once I
