Senior Week 22
This week I started working on a new project. I spent Monday thinking of projects and thinking of things that I could use. I realized I could use something to organize CD cases because I listen to them in my car and at home sometimes and don't have a good way to store them. I started designing late on Monday and thinking of how I wanted to make this. I looked around online for inspiration and found a design I liked. It was a plastic design with some bent edges that I would n

Senior Week 21
This week i continued working on my birthday card for my mom. I spent the start of the week figuring out what kind of design I wanted to do on the front. i ended up putting a big happy birthday on the top and some images of things she likes like a disco ball and dance shoes. The finished design in CAD Once I was done designing it in CAD I moved it over to Inkscape where I needed to relearn how to do designs and engravings. I used Mr. L's guide for the freshman year locker tag

Senior Week 20
This week I started looking for small projects to work on while I was waiting for the wood for my stool project. Last week I finished up the snowboard hanger project so I started looking for new ideas this week. I realized that my moms birthday is next week and decided to make a gift for her. I spent Wednesday trying to figure out what I should make her then on Thursday I decided to make her a card. I wanted to add pictures of things she likes so I spent a while figuring out

Senior Week 18
This week i focused on finishing my snowboard hanger project. last week I got the first half of the hanger printed out and it came out great. I planed on printing out the second half this week and finishing it up. This week we had the first two days off because of MLK day and a professional development day. We came back on Wednesday and I started getting ready to print the second half. I was going through the files and making sure everything looked good. I also made sure tha

Senior Week 17
This week I focused on making progress on both my snowboard hanger and stool projects. Last week I finished by snowboard hanger and made the files to 3d print it. This week I planned on 3d printing it. The first couple of days the 3d printer was taken so I focused on getting ready for my stool project. When I finished up the stool project and went to order the wood there were some issues and it ended up being sold out after I had already ordered it. I checked back in and it i

Senior Week 16
This week I continued working on my snowboard hanger and figuring out how to hang it. Before break I had figured out what kind of drywall anchor I would need to use to be able to hold the snowboard but this week I made some changes to my design to accommodate that. I found a toggle lock on home depot that would work well. I would need eight for my design and they sell them in packs of ten so it will be perfect. I changed the holes on my design and realized that I should chec

Senior Week 15
This week I continued working on the snowboard hanger project. At the end of last week I started looking for ways to reduce the material in my design after stress testing it and realizing that I could reduce the amount of material used significantly. At the end of last week I also shortened how far out the bottom part went. This took away a lot of unneeded material. The message I got from stress testing last week This week I started by looking for drywall anchors to see what

Senior Week 14
This week I continued working on testing the snowboard hanger. Last week I did the first stress tests on it and they came back with great results. The results said that I would be able to take away some material while still keeping the hanger stable enough to support the weight I needed it to. This week I started looking for ways to reduce the materials used. My first idea was to remove the top support on the hanger. I did this on Monday and was able to test the design on Tu

Senior Week 13
This week I continued working on my snowboard hanger. At the start of the week I had to remake my second design unfortunately because it did not save. I finished this pretty quick and added some new changes to it while I was designing it such as a filet on the bottom that I thought made it look better and would possibly add some support. Remade this design and added filet to the bottom One I was done remaking that design I moved on to stress testing. I looked into a few vi
