Senior Week 3

This week I continued working on my stool project. spent a lot of time coming up with designs. At first I thought that I wanted to put a design on the legs with cutouts. I started by trying a triangular pattern but I realized it would intersect with the sniglets so I had to get rid of the middle of the pattern which did not look good as you can see below.

After the triangle design I came up with the idea to add a circular pattern to half of each of the legs. I started doing this and I did not hate the design but I questioned the stability. It seemed like it may snap because of the amount of holes if too much weight was put on it.

Once I went home after designing the stool with the circle pattern I thought of the idea to make a stool with curved legs. Once I got into shop the next day I tried this out and ended up really liking it. I made a curve on one side with a three point arc then mirrored it to the other side. I like this design the most so far. I plan on possibly adding some more to it such as seeing if I could put some kind of design in the middle of the legs following the curve of the sides but I still likes how it looks for now.
