Week 21

This week I continued working on and finished my frame project. At the start of the week, I realized that the size of the frame would make it difficult to find any wood that was able to fit it. Unfortunately I did not find any in the shop. Luckily, I saw that there were pieces of acrylic that would be perfect. I was originally going to use one layer of clear acrylic so I stuck with that. I also ended up using some clear, frosted acrylic for the front and back along with the unfrosted clear layer that I had originally planned to use as a way to keep the poster in place and protected.

It took me a little while to cut out the different pieces, but I eventually got them all cut out and assembled by Thursday. The frame fits the print perfectly and I am happy with how it came out. I am also happy that I ended up using the acrylic instead of the wood. I think that it looks nice and it is nice to be able to do a project with acrylic after doing a lot with wood. I also used some new screws that fit the frame perfectly and I think the black matches better with it as you can see below.
