Week 22

This week, after I finished up my frame project, I started researching new projects. I was looking through websites like GrabCad to find ideas. I did not find much, but I came up with one Idea. Recently I got a sim racing wheel and I need a surface to use it because I do not have anything that works currently. I started looking online to see what kinds of projects people had made by themselves and came across a few ideas.

Lots of people that I found making these projects had used PVC pipes to make an easy sturdy frame. I thought that this was a good way to make it cheap and still sturdy. unfortunately, every design I found in PVC was very large and not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something to just hold the wheel and pedals since I did not need a chair. I found an example online that I thought would work the best for me and started to work on designs recreating it with PVC in my notebook as you can see below. I liked the last design the most. It seems like it will balance the wheel the best, whereas the others seemed questionable as to whether or not they could balance it well.
