Week 27

This week I started working on a new project because of complications with my wheel stand project. Unfortunately when I went to order the materials for my wheel stand there were some issues and some of the parts were sold out. I decided to just continue and work on a new project and revisit the wheel stand later on when the materials are available.

While I was looking for new projects to work on I thought of a wall mount for model cars. I have a few model cars in my house and saw these examples of hangers for them to hang on the wall. The hangers have a hook that goes around the front two wheels and keeps them on the wall. I liked this idea and started going through designs trying to find how I wanted to do this. My first design can be seen to the left below. I went through a few designs and eventually found one that I liked the most. I also brought in a wheel from one of the models to measure how big the hook should be.

After I made the design with the correct measurements that you can see below , I made a sketch of the design in my notebook. I used the same measurements and made it to scale so that I could test it with the wheel from the car to see if it would fit. I tested it and it fit perfectly so I know that the design should work with the model.
