Week 4

This week I continued to work on my pencil holder project. I got the design finished up in CAD and started to laser cut it in cardboard. After the first cut in cardboard I noticed that the holes on top would be too small for the pencils so I went back to fusion and made them bigger. After cutting the second time one of the holes did not cut on the insert that keeps the pencils standing up so I went back and recut it. I got all of the parts finished in cardboard and assembled the cardboard model. The model works well and comfortably fits 12 pencils just as I had hoped for. Next I'm planning on cutting out the design in wood and assembling the final project with wood glue just like I did with my light box project.
